The Luck of the Irish

As I sit with my glass of wine waiting for my dinner to be ready, the only thing I can think to do is write to all of you! And although these pictures are not from this great week of St. Patrick's Day, it is very fitting that most of these outfits have green and orange mixed in with them. I usually keep Sundays at work pretty casual and comfy so that the day goes by as quickly as possible. This was a perfect choice for that. Black long sleeve and new cardigan from H&M and leggings from Target.
This was one of those outfits that was going to work no matter what because I wanted it to. And thank god it did. Green gingham shirt and tan pants from Old Navy and cream and green striped sweater from Target.
Now here's not just a little bit of orange but a whole lot of orange to add to the St. Patty's Day feel. Orange polka dot sweater from Old Navy, orange tie front top from F21 and brown pants from K&G.
Now here was my super fun outfit of the week. I went to a Siena Basketball game at Quinnipiac with one of my friends from Siena. It was a nice break from the everyday life of work and pretending to be in college again for a little. Jeans from F21 and green cardigan from Old Navy worked great with the green and gold of the Siena colors. And we won!! In the last few seconds of the nail biter!
Last but not least a little bit more green. Tan striped pants from K&G, mint top from F21 and scarf from Burlington Coat Factory.

Just A Little Fun

Do you ever get stuck in the thought that every outfit is boring/looks the same/blah blah blah....that is the definition of what I've been feeling. I know that I've been doing the best to challenge myself (aka mainly trying to not duplicate outfits) but some outfits just feel like they have been done before. Maybe not done my me but I've have seen them out there. This week I tried to spice things up and be fun, or have fun with whatever I was wearing!! This was the most out there outfit of the week. Black sweater from F21 and grey capris from T.J.Maxx. I threw just a basic head band around my head instead of in it and got my cute hippie look.
Now we know how much I love these grey and blue plaid pants and I still have not exhausted every blue item I have in my wardrobe to bring out the blue in the pants. Grey plaid pants from T.J.Maxx, white tank from Marshall's and blue cardigan from Gap.
I grabbed this shirt in the after Christmas sale at Old Navy when I got a bunch of other stuff on sale. This is the first chance I got to wear it but of course had to layer up because it is still cold here! Navy printed top and bright blue cardigan from Old Navy and blue pants from T.J.Maxx.
This was a quick throw together outfit that I knew had no shot of failure because it was in the same color and pattern with a little bit of fun. Black pants, striped shirt and scarf all from Old Navy and grey open front cardigan from F21.
This was by far my favorite outfit from the week. A hardcore mix of new and old pieces that combined to make a wonderful outfit that I fell in love with. This skirt is actually a mix of black and grey heathering, even though it looks black/dark grey in the pictures. New skirt from H&M and black skirt from Target. And then black blazer from H&M too!

The Challenge of the Closet

Since I have been blogging for almost a year now I thought that I would take the time to reflect on how planning outfits, assessing the clothes in my closet/drawers, and browsing Pinterest/other blogs has really challenged me to create so much more than I could have ever managed. I racked my brain and created so many outfits that I never thought would work or were even possible with most of the clothes that I already had in my possession. This past winter was especially challenging due to the shear amount of frigid days forcing my brain to hurt with creativeness. I think I did a pretty decent job and I'd pat myself on the shoulder if it didn't look too crazy! Now most of this outfit is a repeat from Christmas except for the fact that I must wear dress pants to work instead of jeans. Green polka dot sweatshirt from F21 and brown pants from Kohl's.
This was a complete outfit throw together. Literally, I had no outfits picked out and stood in front of my closet at a complete loss. Since I spend so much time browsing Pinterest and reading other blogs I do have a lot of outfit ideas swarming in this head of mine in case of a freak outfit blank kind of moment. This was one of them and I was lucky to just pull pieces out that worked with one another. I've seen denim/chambray and mint together everywhere so I knew that it was a sure fire way to make a decent outfit. Black pants and the pearl necklace where easy completer pieces! Black pants and mint cardigan from Old Navy and denim shirt from work!
I have had this skirt since I was 16. I actually got this as a present from my 16th birthday party which is from Abercrombie. I'm pretty sure that I am more proud of myself for still fitting into the skirt more than holding onto to it for that long. And then my new tan sweater from Old Navy.
I went pretty basic for today but had to go a little festive in lieu of Valentine's Day. We know I love me a good holiday to dress for so why wouldn't I want to be cute and wear pink. This is the twin look to what I wore for breast cancer awareness month but with black pants instead of a black skirt. Pink cardigan from Gap, black pants from Old Navy and infinity scarf from Charlotte Rousse. And here is my pretty new Michael Kors watch that was gifted for V-day!
This was also a confused outfit day so I had to resort to mom's closet for the sweater. Black skirt from F21, black tie front tank from Old Navy, and leopard cardigan from Target.

Like A Flash

We were so close to having a little dose of spring and like a flash....it'll soon be gone again with the possibility of that lovely s word potentially in the future. Just when I thought I'd get out of the slump.....we slide right back into the cold! This was the scarf I got from my mom for Christmas from Old Navy and last wore it with the teal shirt. This time I tossed it with a purple cardigan from F21 and black leggings from Target.
I rarely get to wear jeans so when I can I like to make it worth while. Brown cardigan from Express, blue and brown patterned top from Marshall's and jeans from F21.
I really loved this outfit and it makes it even better that I completely threw it together minutes before walking out the door. I wore this to help out at a fashion show my store was sponsoring at a local college. I mainly helped the guys get dressed and ran back and forth so I knew I was going to have to be comfy and still dressed up enough. Clearly you can see I was on my way out the door, keys and purse in hand. Black dress and charcoal cardigan from Old Navy and grey tights from Target.
This was a super comfy outfit that I was happy I got to spend the day in. Grey pants from Kohl's, grey and blue cardigan from the store, and navy polka dot top from Marshall's.
This was by far my favorite outfit of the week. This dress is from F21 but from about 4 years ago when I was in college. Paired it with black cardigan from Old Navy and black tights from Target.

The Words or Lack There Of

Is it possible for 2 days off to leave me at a loss for words....actually if you know me at all you know that I am very rarely at a loss for words but I have come to the point where I am just tired. This week was a killer and was really happy for 2 days off in a row (which I typically dislike greatly!). So to skip all the nonsense of no words I will get right to the clothes! This sweater dress/tunic is several years old and I am pretty sure I didn't wear it once last year but was needed for all this cold we've had this year. Teal sweater dress from JCPenney, white long sleeve shirt from Old Navy and black leggings from Target.
This was one of those Saturday outfits that I threw in a bag and changed in to at work after our meeting and was really excited that it ended up working out! I think that I have tried so many combos with this skirt that I still love after having it for over a year. Patterned skirt from Target and black long sleeve shirt from H&M.
Yay for the next day hair and an impromptu outfit! The mint, camel and black is a great color combo so I just tried to play off of that. Mint jeans and black tank from F21, cheetah scarf from Kohl's and camel sweater from a random online website.
